About Us
Edye Kaanehe
Managing Director


Above and beyond. If you had to describe Edye in a single statement, this would unarguably be no stretch. As a teenager, Edye put aside the typical priorities of youth to begin her career managing one of many California small businesses owned and operated by her grandfather. She was briskly introduced to the headaches, uncertainties and liability small businesses face daily with regards to human resources and compliance with state and federal laws. More importantly, Edye learned the value of client relationships.

In 1996, Edye moved to Chico to expand her education. While there, her experience lead her to the corporate world where she spent five years as the Human Resource Manager for what is now the nation’s leading solar heating manufacturer. In 2003, Edye relocated and returned to her capital-region roots, again providing service to small and medium sized businesses. Since then, Edye has dedicated herself to furnishing superior service to a variety of businesses including retail, construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and non-profit organizations. Her knowledge, experience, and “customer first” attitude has made her an asset to California’s business community. As the Managing Director for Golden State Employer Services, Edye’s goal is to deliver an uncompromised partnership to each client that redefines their strategy for success.

Kevin is a native Californian who spent most of his life growing up in San Francisco’s east bay area. This is where he helped operate a small family owned business and learned about the challenges of being an employer. He pursued his education at Chico State University where he studied Business Administration and Construction Management. The first seven years of his career were spent in public safety where Kevin worked for various agencies as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. He has carried with him the experience, training, and extensive list of safety certifications that continues to grow. In 1999, Kevin moved into the commercial construction industry where he continues to expand and exercise his knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations. Kevin is a certified Safety Trained Supervisor by the Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional certified by the United States Green Building Council, which is the most highly recognized credential in green technology today.

Kevin’s qualifications coupled with his commitment to safety and environmental responsibility have made him an asset to Golden State Employer Services and their clients. He identifies both categories as the “Silent Expenses” for California’s employers. He brings tremendous value to businesses by helping them recognize how the little things typically overlooked add up to big savings.
